PROJECT HISTORY

March 1999 : The idea of setting up a research project to investigate the biological effects of the THz radiation was discussed between some of the partners

April 1999 : in occasion of the Bordeaux Forum "Future European Research on Mobile Communication and Health" further partners were contacted

May 1999 : Following the Bordeaux discussion, a specific meeting was organised at Frascati on May 3, 1999, and the project proposal begun to take a well definite shape.

August 1999: The outline of the project was finalized in occasion of the ELBE User's Workshop at FZR/Dresden.

Sept./Oct. 1999: Details of the project were defined during meetings at Naples, Frankfurt/Stuttgart and Cambridge.

February 2000: Final draft of the proposal discussed during a meeting at Frascati. Proposal was finally ready for presentation to the EC.

March 2000 : Proposal submitted to the EU Commission.

June 2000 : Evaluation report from the EU Commission.

July 2000 : THz-BRIDGE enters the negotiation phase with the EU

October 2000: Financial forms and technical annex sent to the Commission

January 23, 2001: Contract signed by EU

February 1, 2001: Start of the Project

February 23-23, 2001: Kickoff Meeting at Frascati [minutes available to partners only]

September 30 - October 1, 2001: Andros Meeting (Greece): Safety issues, survey of THz sources [minutes available to partners only]

February 15-16, 2002 ... : Schöllkrippen (Frankfurt): Focus on Spectroscopic measurements [minutes available to partners only]

September 29 - October 2, 2002 Capri - Italy: THz-BRIDGE Workshop & Mid Term Review [minutes & presentations available to partners only]

February 3-4, 2003, Stuttgart University: Annual Project Meeting

May 2003: publication of the THz-BRIDGE proceeding as a special issue of the "Journal of Biological Physics" vol. 29, n. 2-3 (Kluwer ed.)

August 28-29, 2003: Nottingham Meeting

January 19-20, 2004: Final meeting -Frascati

December 2004: Approval for dissemination of results
