- At the end of 1996 the Conceptual Design Activity (CDA)
of IFMIF was completed, according to the schedule and was reported at the
IEA Fusion Power Coordinating Committee (FPCC) on January 29,1997.
- FPCC recommended to proceed and complete a review of
the conceptual design (CDE, Conceptual Design Evaluation) lasting two years
1997-1998 before it discusses and decides on a next step of CDA.
- At the end of March 1997 following the recommendation
of FPCC the CDE activity was started.
